Dear Valued Customer

We continue to be encouraged by the news that our efforts as a Nation are flattening the curve and reducing the spread of Covid-19.  I think it’s safe to say we are all eager to support our Government in a move towards the restart of safe businesses and the economy, albeit under strict Alert Level 3 controls.

At Steel & Tube our main concern is the health and safety of our people, customers, suppliers and communities.  In preparation for a potential move to Alert Level 3 we have developed restart procedures.  We wanted to share these procedures with you so that you can be assured we intend to operate as a safe business under strict Alert Level 3 controls.  We also thought these documents might assist you in the development of your own procedures.

Steel & Tube have proudly supported New Zealand since 1953 and will continue to do so.  As a key partner, we would like to take this opportunity to confirm our commitment to you:

  • Providing nationwide local support through our sites, from Whangarei to Invercargill
  • Technical and Product specialists accessible now, to give support across our entire business
  • Product availability and significant stock levels nationally
  • An innovative digital platform to deliver business to business efficiencies

Steel & Tube have been providing products and services to more than 170 essential service businesses over the past few weeks and we continue to support customers with quotations, solutions and technical support.  We are anticipating significant demand following the lock down and are working with customers now to reserve products at current pricing.

We look forward to supporting the New Zealand economy and our partners through a safe restart.

Best regards

Nationwide lock down at Level 4 Alert

31 MARCH 2020

With New Zealand currently being in nationwide lock down at Level 4 Alert to stop and eradicate COVID-19, Steel & Tube’s Business Continuity Plans have launched alternative ways of working.

As of Wednesday 25 March 2020, all Steel & Tube sites were closed in line with Government requirements.

To ensure we can continue to support your business, Steel & Tube have implemented work from home measures and systems, enabling us to fully respond proactively to any technical or future supply questions.  Our core team of technical staff are available to support you during the current COVID-19 Level 4 Alert.

Over this period we will also continue to provide updates as they come to hand.  In the interim, please stay safe by fully supporting our country’s approach to keeping our community safe – we fully support the government’s direction for the wellbeing of New Zealand.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours Sincerely
