Steel & Tube were honoured to participate in the 128th Tūrangawaewae Waka Ama Regatta. The Regatta is a significant historic event encouraging aquatic sports and the preservation of Māori river activities and customs.

Established in 1894 by the Ngāruawāhia community – it's the second oldest regatta in New Zealand and an integral part of New Zealand history. Each race is 250 meters upstream near Tūrangawaewae Marae, a spectacular venue.

For the competition, Steve Johnson, Account Manager Roofing Waikato, led Steel & Tube's team of 12 including CEO, Mark Malpass, P&C General Manager, Anna Morris, and Waikato/Taranaki Regional Manager, Joseph Olliver.

Steve says "What a great day. We won our first race (Video of race above), just missed 2nd in our 2nd race and well the 3rd race we will leave to the imagination."

A big thanks to all of the team and support crew that made the day a special event. The paddlers are now all working on their muscles to take out the corporate category next year when we'll be back with force.
